How we pushed the envelope
Following a competitive pitch for the Post Office Retail Awards, we were invited to design, produce and deliver an event that was completely different to any previous formats. In fact, we were given carte blanche which for natural born innovators like ourselves was a dream come true.
A multinational event, we opted for a strong theme to connect our many different visitors and make everyone feel welcome. Featuring iconic buildings and structures from around the British Isles, we created artwork in a classic Art Deco style, while international food stations were designed and built to reflect the multi-cultural demographic of our audience. Excitingly, we created an ‘in the round’ experience with a central award stage that was also large enough to accommodate any following entertainment. Our Motion team created fluid award graphics, including moving backgrounds. While the after-show party featured a show band with high-end lighting and sound together with an automated LED backdrop, dance floor and cocktail bar. Web streaming was used to connect attendees with family and friends.
Considered a great success, the atmosphere created was in complete contrast to previous years. Our ‘in the round’ concept was particularly well received, and the motion graphics considered spectacular. The show itself was slick and professional with live camera relay employing a four camera shoot, including a hand-held wireless cam. A memorable party rounded off an evening that was universally loved by client and attendees alike.
